You really need to get experience in all the phases of the silk screen printing process. at least for textiles if not all media.

Try getting a Job for a local screen print shop. Work your way up the ranks so you get hands on experience imaging the screens and setting up and printing shirts. Mixing inks and the whole bit.

This knowledge is essential to creating Dynamic fantastic t-shirt designs that print unlike the typical " Your Logo Her t-shirt design.

Creating Great t-shirt art requires a knowledge of the entire silk screening process. What the inks will do, what happens on different color shirts, What kind of detail can be images in the screen, How inks mix on press, What of contact does. Thinks like Which inks need what screen mesh......

All this information, experience and knowledge will make you a better top notch tee shirt artist and designer.
